Trustees Meeting
Monday, January 8, 2007
Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President Diana Nazelli at 7:05 p.m. Those present included Trustee Jeff Homans, Trustee Steve Thomas and Clerk Elizabeth Boles.
MINUTES: The minutes from the last meeting were read and corrected. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to accept the minutes as corrected.
OLD BUSINESS
TOWNSHIP HALL FUND RAISING/ARTS DISTRICT:
The Trustees met with Mr. Charles Bentz, CF Village Mayor Brick and CF Village Councilman and Arts Commission Chairman Dwight Milko (Mr. Steve Patton is now the new Village Council President) on 12/30/06 to discuss the fund raising list and current state of the project.
The next meeting will be held on Sat. 1/13/07 at 8:00 a.m. at Mr. Milko's office.
Mr. Bentz suggested hiring a PR person for this project to keep a public common message and an Urban Planner. These suggestions will be on the agenda to discuss on 1/13/07.
Mr. Bentz has asked for $4,500.00 more (see attached). The Trustees reported the Bentz fees will be split with the Village.
Trustee Thomas made a motion to pay the $ 4,500.00 fee to Charles Bentz & Associates. Trustee Homans seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.
TOWNSHIP HALL STUDY:
Trustee Homans reported he spoke with Elizabeth Murphy and Trustee Thomas about fees for this study. Elizabeth Murphy has requested $18,000.00 more.
Detailed measured drawings are needed for the Study. The Township Hall burned in the 1940's and no drawings have been found since the Hall was re-built.
A motion was made by Trustee Thomas and seconded by Trustee Homans to pay the $18,000.00 to Elizabeth Murphy. The motion was unanimously passed.
President Nazelli will draft a letter to all renters and interested community groups, including schools, asking for their input on the Township Hall renovations.
OBTAINING A 501C3:
Mr. Jack Waldeck, Township attorney, sent drafts of initial articles of incorporation. (see attached)
TOWN HALL MAINTENANCE:
President Nazelli will call D.E. Williams, Inc. to ask them to check out the electrical wiring in the Women's bathroom.
Mr. Henry Piper believes he knows the source of the continual leaks in the north side of the building. He says the leaks come from the threshold of the door on the balcony that leads out to the fire escape. Trustee Thomas will call Roofer John Jackson.
TOWNSHIP HALL RENTALS:
No report.
WEB SITE:
Trustee Homans announced the Township Website has officially been turned over to WRIS.
INTERGOVERNMENTAL MEETING:
Trustee Homans announced he will attend the next meeting on January 20, 2007.
RE-APPOINTMENTS FOR 2007:
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to re-appoint Chuck Bittenbender to another term on the Township Zoning Commission and John Finley to another term on the Township Zoning Board of Appeals (Mr. Finley is currently Chairman of this Board).
ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2007 MEETING SCHEDULE:
Clerk Boles announced the Trustee Meetings in 2007 will be held every 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month unless there is a conflict, then all Trustees and Clerk will be notified.
AUTHORIZATIONS & ENCUMBRANCES FOR 2007:
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to authorize and encumber the following expenses for 2007:
Trustees Thomas, Nazelli, Homans; Clerk Boles; Town Hall Administrator Ellen Hunt; Town Hall Handyman Joe Kocheff; N.J.S. Cleaning Service:$ 500.00 each
