Falls Township Trustees Meeting
Minutes
Tuesday, January 11, 2005
The meeting was called to order by President
Stephen Thomas at 7:35 p.m. Those present included Trustee Diana
Nazelli, Trustee Jeff Homans, and Clerk Elizabeth Boles.
MINUTES: The minutes from the last meeting
were read and corrected. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously
passed to accept the minutes as corrected.
OLD BUSINESS
BRICK ROAD PROJECT:
• Trustee Nazelli reported the work will resume on the road
in better weather.
TOWN HALL RENTALS:
• Clerk Boles reported Dewey Forward of Chagrin Falls Popcorn
Shop was three months behind rental fees for use of the Town Hall
dumpster. President Thomas said he would talk to Mr. Forward.
TOWN HALL MAINTENANCE:
• The storm door to the basement of Town Hall on the driveway
side has caved in due to tons of ice & snow falling on it. Trustee
Nazelli will contact the Town Hall Handyman.
TOWN HALL STUDY & RENOVATIONS: No
report.
LOCAL GOVERNMENT FUNDS MEETING:
• Trustee Nazelli reported there were 11 members at the meeting
including many Cuyahoga County officials. Trustee Nazelli spoke
on behalf of the Ohio Townships, of which there are 1,309. She explained
the threat of losing these funds is a “quality of life”
issue. 53% of the Townships rely on the funds. 40% of libraries’
yearly budgets are the local government funds and some are 100%
of their budgets.
• The final decision will be made the first of June.
504 NORTH MAIN STREET/FOLTZ APPEAL:
• President Thomas made a motion to move into Executive Session.
Trustee Homans seconded this motion and the motion was unanimously
passed.
NEW BUSINESS
REAPPOINTMENTS:
• Two members’ terms have expired as of January 1, 2005.
They are: Winkie Raleigh from the Zoning Board of Appeals (BZA)
and Judy McConnell from the Zoning Commission of Chagrin Falls Township.
• President Thomas reported he has asked the Chairman of each
group to handle the re-appointments.
• President Thomas expressed the need to have two alternates
appointed to the BZA, and the Trustees agreed.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF 2005 MEETING SCHEDULE:
• Clerk Boles announced the meetings will be held regularly
on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month unless there are conflicts
and all will be notified.
AUTHORIZATIONS/ENCUMBRANCES FOR 2005:
A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to encumber the
following amounts for 2005:
• OTARMA $ 3,000.00
• Patton Pest 300.00
• Chagrin River Watershed 750.00
• .8mill levy for 2004 to CF 8,000.00
• C.F. Suburban F.D. 18,000.00
• Street Lights 900.00
• Police & Fire Radio Service 500.00
• Village of CF, Gas. Tax 65,000.00
• Waste Management 8,000.00
• Zoning Agent fee 200.00
• Chagrin River Partners 700.00
• Cuyahoga Co. road 60,000.00
• Town Hall handyman 2,000.00
• Universal Disposal 800.00
• Trustees Thomas, Nazelli, Homans; Clerk Boles; Ellen Hunt;
NJS Cleaning Service 500.00/each for Township/Town Hall
The meeting was unanimously adjourned
at 8:20 p.m.
