Falls Township Trustees Meeting
Minutes
Tuesday, March 14, 2006
The meeting was called to order by President
Nazelli at 7:35 p.m. Those present included Trustee Homans, Trustee
Thomas and Clerk Elizabeth Boles.
MINUTES: The minutes from the last meeting
were read. A motion was made, seconded, and unanimously passed to
accept the minutes as read.
OLD BUSINESS
TOWN HALL FUND RAISING:
· President Nazelli reported all three fund raising candidates
are coming for an individual interview on Tuesday, April 4, 2006.
· The Trustees will prepare an agenda that will cover pertinent
questions.
· Copies of the agenda will be mailed to all three before
4/4/06.
· President Nazelli announced only one of the fund raisers,
Chuck Bentz, has experience for a project like this. He has specific
historic properties expertise.
· Trustee Thomas said he was uncomfortable with one experienced
fund raiser so he will ask Mayor Brick and Councilman Milko for
their recommendations.
· The Trustees discussed other historical properties such
as Lawnfield and Hale Farm that have recently had renovations but
the renovations were done mostly in-house and both have a Board
of Trustees.
· President Nazelli said Chuck Bentz suggested the Trustees
apply for a 501c3 right away so people will feel good about donating
to the project and a small Board needs to be established.
· Trustee Thomas will invite Councilman Milko or another
delegate to attend the 4/4 interviews as a voting participant. One
more voting participant is needed to make a total of five.
TOWN HALL STUDY & RENOVATIONS: No
report.
TOWN HALL MAINTENANCE:
· Trustee Thomas suggested Tom Burnett of Chagrin Painting
Company be contacted to look at the plaster and paint work needed
and submit a bid.
TOWN HALL RENTALS:
· The Trustees voted unanimously “yes” to raise
Ellen Hunts’ salary from $170.00 to $185.00 a month beginning
in March, 2006.
ZONING ISSUES:
· Trustee Thomas reported he spoke with CF Fire Chief Leffler
about access issues to interior lots in Township.
· Chief Leffler said trucks get stuck in long driveways and
circular driveways are preferable.
· Trustee Thomas passed around a draft of a proposed amendment
to the Chagrin Falls Township Zoning Resolutions (see attached).
This will be put on the agenda for next month.
· Trustee Homans will talk to Mr. David Hartt about this.
ZONING ISSUES ON WEB SITE:
· Trustee Homans passed around a draft to alter descriptive
language in the Zoning Amendments on the Township website. (see
attachment) User-friendly language such as “you can not get
a building permit without a zoning permit first.”
· Township Web Master Mike Bellah will be notified.
· Trustee Homans will make a new application form for the
website.
TOWNSHIP SIGNS:
· President Nazelli has a copy of the latest Township sign
and the Trustees like it.
· President Nazelli will ask Ken Roby for the cost of the
new sign.
TOWNSHIP/VILLAGE AGREEMENT RE: TOWN HALL
USAGE:
· The Village officials and Village Law Director are currently
looking at Trustee Thomas’ e-mail (see attached)
INTERGOVERNMENTAL MEETING:
· Trustee Homans will attend on March 25, 2006.
CUYAHOGA COUNTY MAYORS & CITY MANAGERS
ASSOCIATION OVERVIEW AND STRATEGY SUMMIT ON TEL:
· President Nazelli will attend March 22, 2006.
The meeting was unanimously adjourned
at 8:50 p.m.
