FINANCIAL REPORT:  The Trustees acknowledged receipt of the financial report for the month of May from the Clerk.  A copy of the report is attached to the June 7th minutes.

OLD BUSINESS

BRICK ROAD PROJECT:

  • Trustee Nazelli reported there is a new project manager for Chioffe, Jimmy Knight.
  • The new residents at 541 Falls Road, the McMillans, would like to have their property cleaned up and all debris taken away.  The Trustees will remind Chioffe of this because Chioffe used that property as a dump site with the previous owner’s permission.
  • The broken brick that needs to be replaced must be replaced by the old paving company not Ohio Paving which is doing it now.
  • Trustee Nazelli reported the grass seeds have been sown along Falls Road.

TOWN HALL RENTALS

  • The Trustees reported Ellen Hunt’s father has passed away.  Trustee Nazelli suggested sending Ellen an acknowledgement and to let her know she is doing a great job as the Town Hall Administrator.  President Thomas suggested a gift certificate to a local restaurant.  A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to give Ellen Hunt a $100.00 gift certificate to a local restaurant.  Trustee Nazelli will take care of this.
  • President Thomas related the Chagrin Valley Chamber Orchestra’s interest in renting the Town Hall for their practices beginning in the fall. They will rent it from 7:15 – 9:45 on Wednesday nights for $40.00 per session. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to rent the Town Hall to the CVCO.  The contact person is Steve Eva. President Thomas will give the information to Ellen Hunt.
  • Artist Sophie Pace would like to rent the Town Hall for three days in August for $150.00/day to exhibit and sell her sculptures.  A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed to rent to Ms. Pace in August. (see e-mail in rental file).  Ms. Pace will have to contact the Village to see if it is all right with them.  President Thomas will give the information to Ellen Hunt.

TOWN HALL MAINTENANCE

  • Trustee Nazelli reported she looked at the architect’s field report and noted some clean-up needed to be done. Town Hall handyman Joseph Kocheff took the ivy off the building.  The Christmas supplies left in the basement of the hall must be removed because it is a fire hazard.
  • Trustee Nazelli suggested drafting a letter to the Jaycees, MainstreetCF and Holly Hall asking them to please come and clean it up.
  • Mr. Kocheff will also move the ladder to a better location than a stairwell.

TOWN HALL STUDY & RENOVATIONS:

  • The Trustees are looking for the original Utility Easement letter.  Clerk Boles will look in her files.

DEDICATION OF TOWN HALL GARDEN

  • Trustee Nazelli recommended making the dedication a fund raiser for Town Hall to help pay for something specific. President Thomas recommended the money go towards planning fees, he added the amount raised would be insignificant to cover any large expenditure.

ZONING COMMISSION

  • Franz Sauerland, Chairman of the Zoning Commission and the Commission members have decided to postpone finishing the process of ratifying the new Zoning Regulations until the fall when more Township residents will be around for the Public Hearing dates.

NEW BUSINESS

SENATE BILL 18:

  • President Thomas reported this bill has been revoked.  In 1947 a law was enacted which gave authority to Townships to regulate zoning.  In 2002, convenience and general welfare was added to expand power of Townships to zone.  This new part was revoked and it has gone back to 1947 law.

TOWNSHIP BUDGET FOR 2006

  • The Trustees related they would like to see income projections and disbursements for Township.  Clerk Boles reported she will hand out copies of the 2006 Budget at the next meeting.

The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
