Trustees Meeting
Monday, September 12, 2005
Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President
Stephen Thomas at 7:10 p.m. Those present included Trustee
Diana Nazelli, Trustee Jeff Homans and Clerk Elizabeth Boles.
MINUTES: The minutes from
the meeting on July 26th were read. A motion was made, seconded
and unanimously passed to accept the minutes as read.
OLD BUSINESS
BRICK ROAD PROJECT:
- Trustee Nazelli reported the project is 12oo
feet short of bricks, in the Village section.
- The project to targeted to be finished by the
end of this year.
- President Thomas reported he visited the McMullen
family now living at 541 Falls Road. They are distressed
with the mound of dirt and debris in their front yard.
Cioffe has been “rough” grading
the mound and the McMullens would like this finished ASAP so the
formal landscaping can begin.
TOWN HALL RENTALS:
- Mr. Steve Eva is renting the Hall for C.V. Orchestra
practice and would like to know how to get into the Hall.
President Thomas will check if Ellen Hunt has sent Mr. Eva a
copy of the rental agreement.
- Mr. Paul Pointer is currently the President of
the C.V. Jaycees.
TOWN HALL MAINTENANCE:
- There was a CF Fire Dept. Inspection done in
the Hall and office in July. A copy of the Inspection
Report is on the office desk.
- The Town Hall handyman, Mr. Kocheff, will be
notified and Clerk Boles will buy an orange extension cord for
the office.
- The Trustees are waiting for the electrical system
update in the NW corner of the building. Trustee Nazelli
reported Ben Himes said it will be done as soon as possible.
TOWN HALL STUDY & RENOVATIONS:
- Trustee Nazelli reported she has contacted a
couple of historical agencies to help raise private funds which
will help leverage public funding. One of the people she
talked to is Julie Lindner, a planner for the Village of C.F.
- Trustee Nazelli will ask Elizabeth Murphy if
she can recommend a format for financial statements and also
if Ms. Murphy can recommend a person to help with grants.
- The Trustees will look into becoming a certified
Public Government.
- The Trustees would like Pat Loy to propose some
“cash flow” analyses and find out what our cash
flow is annually to understand fully how much is needed for
the Town Hall renovations.
ZONING RESOLUTION UPDATES:
- Trustee Homans reported he talked to Ms. Dreyfus-Wells
recently about possible riparian set-back provisions.
Moreland Hills currently has them in effect and would be an
excellent review source.
- Trustee Homans would like to invite Ms. Dreyfus-Wells
to the Zoning Resolution Meeting set for 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 27.
NEW BUSINESS
OHIO SCENIC BYWAY:
- President Thomas announced there is a proposal
for designating River Road as an Ohio Scenic Byway with Falls
Road and North Main Street as a scenic spur. The Trustee
agreed this would be a nice idea.
GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION OF FALLS
ROAD:
- Trustee Nazelli brought up the idea of having
a Grand Opening when Falls Road is completed.
CHAGRIN VALLEY INTERGOVERNMENT COUNCIL:
- Mayor Bruce Akers is the new President.
President Thomas will call Mayor Akers for any updates.
NEW TOWNSHIP SIGNS:
- Most of the Township signs are missing or damaged.
President Thomas suggested replacing them with metal signs that
can hold up to the weather.
- Terry Taggert and Ken Roby were suggested as
possible sign makers. Trustee Nazelli will begin looking
into this.
The meeting was unanimously adjourned
at 8:00 p.m.
