Trustees Meeting
Tuesday, October 11, 2005
Minutes
The meeting was called to order by President
Stephen Thomas at 7:35 p.m. Those present included Trustee
Diana Nazelli, Trustee Jeff Homans, and Clerk Elizabeth Boles.
MINUTES: The minutes from
the last meeting were read and there was an addition. A motion
was made, seconded and unanimously passed to accept the minutes
with the addition.
OLD BUSINESS
BRICK ROAD PROJECT:
- Trustee Nazelli reported the project is ahead
of schedule.
- President Thomas reported Brooke Spectorsky of
624 Falls Road is concerned about the re-seeding of the tree
lawns on Falls Road.
- Trustee Homans is interested in what has been
done so far with the tree lawn seeding.
TOWN HALL RENTALS:
- Mr. David Griffiths and the 10/3/05 renters of
Town Hall reached an agreement and the Republican meeting was
held at Town Hall. Congressman Steve LaTourette attended
this meeting and would like to return to meet all the Trustees.
- Clerk Boles will contact the head of the Yoga
Class to discuss the rent.
TOWN HALL MAINTENANCE:
- Trustee Nazelli announced the electrical contractor
designated to do the work at Town Hall died and Mr. Ben Himes
of CF Village is looking for his replacement.
- Mainstreet CF President, Nancy Haag proposed
that a group of students do community service in Town Hall such
as painting walls, etc.
- Trustee Nazelli asked Mr. Ben Himes and Mr. Henry
Piper to look at the water damage outside and inside the Ladies’
room. She was told that it looks like gutter problems.
President Thomas contacted Sam Trabascio, the Gutterman from
Macedonia, to come by and give an estimate.
- Trustee Nazelli is waiting to hear back from
Mr. Arnold about the brick work needed to be done.
- Trustee Nazelli is concerned about the condition
of the front steps. The Trustees discussed putting a ramp
over the steps and/or a wooden overlay on the steps.
- Trustee Nazelli reported Steve Medhurst told
her the lightning rod on the main roof is not attached.
- Harry Edwards, CF Village Zoning Inspector, has
reported there is a pile of trash behind Town Hall. After
further investigation, it was determined the trash belongs to
the Jaycees. President Thomas will call Paul Pointer,
President of the Jaycees.
TOWN HALL STUDY & RENOVATIONS:
- Trustee Nazelli reported she has contacted Timy
Sullivan and Casey Bergman for their fund raising advice.
INTERGOVERNMENTAL MEETING:
- Trustee Homans reported he attended the meeting
on October 8th and the main topic discussed was realistic and
practical points about the communities joining together for
services such as rubbish, EMS and Fire.
- It was a decided there was no clear advantage
however Bruce Akers, Mayor of Pepper Pike, will begin receiving
all contracts for rubbish removal and recycling to determine
which the best is.
- Trustee Homans talked to Mayor Kathy Mulcahy
of Orange Village about the discarded bricks in her community
which are probably from Falls Road.
ZONING RESOLUTION AMENDMENTS:
- The Trustees Public Meeting to discuss amendments
to the Zoning Resolutions will be held Tuesday, October 25,
2005 at 8:00 pm at Town Hall.
- Clerk Boles has put the Public Notice in two
issues of the C.V. Times along with the Township’s website
where the Zoning Resolution Amendments can be read. Clerk Boles
will remind residents about this meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
NEW MEMBERS TO THE ZONING BOARD OF
APPEALS:
- President Thomas will ask Margie Rosnovak to
replace Winkie Raleigh on the Board.
- President Thomas announced that Loyal Wilson
will be resigning from the Board as soon as possible.
- The Trustees will also be asking two Township
residents to be alternates on the BZA.
NEW BARN AT 636 FALLS ROAD, JOHNSON
PROPERTY:
- President Thomas reported he received a phone
call from Zoning Agent Mac Donley concerning the bulldozers
he saw and the new barn at 636 Falls Road.
- The barn is 92 feet from the house and according
to the Zoning Resolutions the barn must be at least 100 feet
from another structure for public health reasons.
- President Thomas suggested the Trustees contact
the County Prosecutor’s Office.
- According to Mrs. Johnson, her attorney assured
her there were no permit issues however there has been no building
permit issued which is necessary.
- President Thomas will write a letter to the Johnsons
letting them know about the violations and the potential public
health issues.
TOWNSHIP SIGNS:
- Trustee Nazelli reported she talked with Village
Blacksmith Ken Roby about new Township signs. He will
look into the possibility of making the signs in steel.
- Clerk Boles reported one of the Township signs
on Falls Road is dangling and about to fall off.
The meeting was unanimously adjourned
at 8:40 p.m.
